The CERIS Metadatabase Project provides an evolving,
central Web-based reference point for a wide variety of databases on ethnoracial
demographics and immigrant settlement information in the Greater Toronto Area. The
Metadatabase comprises information on:
- Census data
- CIC databases
- survey datasets
- municipal and service agency databases
- aggregate client demographics.
The Metadatabase also contains comprehensive information on all CERIS immigration
databases.
The Metadatabase Project will continue to develop linkages to obtain access to
information and to use the CERIS communications infrastructure and network to make the
information available to interested researchers and community partners, including
community agencies, affiliated government offices, university researchers and social
planning organizations.
CERIS gratefully acknowledges the support of the University of Toronto's Data Library
Service, Citizenship and Immigration Canada and Statistics Canada in providing access to
and posting information about these datasets. CERIS also wishes to thank all Metadatabase
participants for information about their databases and access policies. The project
has been funded by Canadian Heritage.
